With us you will be responsible for

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to work on optical spectroscopy within the Environmental Metrology team. The work will mainly consist of the development of optical detection methods for isotope ratio measurements of trace molecular species. You will use advanced spectroscopic techniques, such as cavity-enhanced spectroscopy, for novel applications in the environmental, medical, and industrial fields. You will be able to participate in different projects related to the detection of isotopes and will be able to develop a large variety of experimental skills.

We expect you to have

Requirements include at least a master’s degree in physics or engineering with relevant background in optics. Experience in spectroscopic techniques is an advantage. Knowledge of experimental techniques such as gas handling and vacuum systems, electronics, scientific software such as Matlab and Labview, are also favourable. Good English skills (both written and oral) are essential, particularly as we participate in international projects regularly. Preferably, the applicant is expected to work towards a PhD degree.

You have the skills to work both in cooperation with the researchers in your team and are also able to work independently. You are driven to find solutions to challenges and problems. You possess strong communication abilities, particularly in English.
